For context: I'm from Southern California and we have alllll the good eats. Including Thai Food. On my trip to Portland, this was the only asian food place we tried and it did not disappoint. Know that my standards are pretty high so this place is really very good.
We ordered Pad Thai and Yellow Curry Chicken - both dishes were flavorful and delicious. Seriously, this is some good stuff. Pad Thai was sweet, tangy, and perfect with some lime/lemon squeezed over it. Yellow Curry Chicken was savory and creamy with a hint of coconut. YUMMMM. Their water is good too. Yes I said water. Its rice water!!!! I love rice and the taste of rice and porridge so it was perfect. If you've never had it, you need to try it.
Y'all NEED to try this place... highly recommended from a Socal native. -

Disclaimer: This review is ONLY for the Spicy Chicken with Basil I ordered. It wouldn't be fair to give the whole restaurant 3 Stars. I'm not that salty.
When I go to a "normal" Thai restaurant, I always get the same thing, Spicy Chicken with Basil. Why? Because it's by far the best dish you can possibly get at a Thai restaurant. When done right, its bursting in flavor. With the first bite, the garlic and basil punches you in the mouth. I love that feeling! I'd you're not a fan then mix it in with rice first.
This place had good flavor. So if that's all you're looking for then I highly suggest coming here.
Ok, for the bad...
This dish was 85% green beans, 10% chicken, 5% sauce. I would have included a percentage for basil but I literally only saw 2 leaves and they were babies. Ok, twist my arm...I'd say 0.1% basil.
I thought they made a mistake so I asked the server if this was the right dish and he said yup! "You see those little white pieces, that's chicken sir..."
...If there was a more depressing looking emoji, I'd insert it here.
The server suggested that I get pieces of chicken instead. NO! The reason why you use ground chicken is so there is MAXIMUM surface area covered with the delicious flavors of sweet dark soy sauce, garlic, basil and white pepper!
With that said, I do have to hand it to the owners/chef. It's a brilliant way to reduce the overall cost of the dish! Kudos! -

This is some of the best Thai food I have ever had in the Vancouver Portland area. The restaurant is cute and small with nice decor. The service was really good! My boyfriend got the special galangal curry with salmon, I got yellow curry with tofu and salad rolls. All of the food was amazing. We ate all of it, every last bit of anything. I can't wait to bring my family and friends to eat at Mee Gins because it was so delicious and well priced!

Good thai food, typical prices. I like the spiciness adjustability. Wish they had Tom kha.
